Stephen Mullins is a Dickenson County native and a graduate of Clintwood High School. Public service runs in the family. His father Roger came home from Vietnam and served as a Deputy Sheriff. His mother Sarah taught local children at Sandlick and Clintwood Elementary for 30 years.
He spent 16 years in private practice representing injured coal miners and working people across Southwest Virginia before becoming a prosecutor. Today he serves as the county's Interim Commonwealth's Attorney, working alongside the Sheriff's Office, the Drug Task Force, and the people who keep this county safe.
He and his wife Carrie have been married 27 years. Carrie has spent those same 27 years serving Dickenson County families at Dickenson County Behavioral Health.
